• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From Motochi Fm, which unconformably overlies the Cretaceous Rebun Gp and is unconformably overlain by the Hamanaka Fm (?Middle Miocene); approximately correlative to the Meshikuni Fm. THICKNESS: Unknown thickness of unit. AGE: Early Miocene on the basis of molluscan biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From unknown part of Meshikuni Fm.

Environment/lithology: coastal; poorly lithified, pebbly, green sandstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Presumably shallow-water, siliciclastic. TEMPERATURE: Cool-water.
