Sinegorskiy Suite - Nayba River, Dolinsk District, Sakhalin (Paleocene of Russian Federation)

Where: Russian Federation (47.4° N, 142.8° E: paleocoordinates 51.7° N, 132.2° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Sinegorskiy Formation, Early/Lower Paleocene (66.0 - 61.7 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From Sinegorskiy suite of the upper part of the "Sinegorskiy" horizon, which lies concordantly upon marine deposits of Maastrichtian age and is overlapped by Paleogene coal deposits of the Nizhneduyskaya suite. THICKNESS: Total thickness of unit is 160 m. AGE: Danian-Early Paleocene, on the basis of generic composition. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Composite checklist for formation in this area.

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore; lithified, sandy siltstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Not stated in text; assumed to be cool-water offshore siliciclastic setting on the basis of faunal composition.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Siltstones with interbeds of sandstones. LITHIFICATION: Unknown lithification, presumed lithified given age and facies.

Size class: macrofossils
