Environment/lithology: foreshore; unlithified, coarse-grained, pebbly, sandy sandstone

• postglacial marine terraces--Beach ridge, gravel facies
• Fossils obtained from seaward-dipping gravel layer with sequence of steeply-dipping layers of laminated sand and gravel. Fossils from 11 ft, 21ft and 27ft were obtained from fine sand, silt and clay and those from 30-40 ft from fine sand stained with iron. Horizon 48 ft above high water mark contains gravel.
