Level BH-1, Section B - Germig, Tibet (Triassic of China)

Where: China (28.7° N, 86.1° E: paleocoordinates 29.1° S, 48.0° E)

When: Germig Formation, Rhaetian (208.5 - 201.3 Ma)

• Upper Rhaetian, but below level B1 of ammonites

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore; lithified, fine-grained, gray, calcareous sandstone and lithified siltstone

• The diverse epifauna, in combination with their common association with crinoids and a high degree of encrustation and bioerosion on the shells, suggest a shallow, warm, and low turbidity marine environment of normal salinity.

Size class: macrofossils
