• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Shuwayr Fm, which is unconformably overlain by the Warak Fm (Chattian). THICKNESS: From section of more than 90 m in thickness. AGE: latest Rupelian-early Chattian. Stated by Harzhauser to most likely be "Late Oligocene". Assigned here to Chattian. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From throughout section, although facies become more marine and fossiliferous upsection.
