Also known as LACM 5602

Where: Columbia County, Oregon (46.0° N, 123.3° W: paleocoordinates 46.4° N, 111.0° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Pittsburg Bluff Formation, Priabonian (38.0 - 33.9 Ma)

• The molluscan fauna of the Pittsburg Bluff Formation was

•thought to be middle Oligocene in age (Moore, 1976), but the

•age of the formation is now considered to be approximately 38

•to 39 Ma, or latest Eocene (Armentrout et al., 1983). The Pittsburg

•Bluff Formation overlies the Keasey Formation and is

•correlative with the Galvinian Molluscan Stage, the upper part

•of the Refugian Foraminifera1 Stage, the upper part of the Priabonian

•Global Chronostratigraphic Stage, and the earliest part

•of the Chadronian Land Mammal Age of North America

Environment/lithology: marine
