When: Cowlitz Formation, Bartonian (41.3 - 38.0 Ma)

• Cowlitz Formation in the upper Nehalem River valley of northwestern Orgeon.

•Previously described species of both genera are European and of somewhat different ages than the Oregon species.

Environment/lithology: marine; conglomerate and shale

• Occurences suggest these genera were more cosmopolitan than implied... and might be expected to occur in other parts of the world
• lower shale member, basal conglomerate
