• On talus slope and cliff face of Member D of the Carmel Formation. An 40Ar/39Ar date of 166.3 +/- 0.8 million years (Kowallis et al., 1993) from sanidine crystals in an ash bed at the base of 'Member E' of Nielson... would place the upper part of the Carmel Formation, including the bryozoans, in the Bathonian.
