• The Nama Group formed as a result of collision between the Congo, Kalahari, and Rio de la Plata plates
• the formation is capped by trough crossbedding, sandstone has interbedded limestone, and there are signs of low-grade metamorphism. the specimens are found in a section of sandstone interbedded with shale
