• assigned by Chiappe et al. (2007) without discussion to the lower part of Yixian Formation, but within the Hengdaozi Member of the Chaomidianzi Formation, "formerly regarded as the lower part of the Yixian Formation," according to Ji et al. (1999)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: lacustrine; tuffaceous, gray siltstone

• the Hengdaozi Member consists of "lacustrine grayish-yellow and grayish-green tuffaceous sandstones, siltstones, and silty mudstones" (Ji et al. 1999)
