• The Moin Formation sits conformably on the Quebrada Chocolate Fromation and has no upper contact.

Environment/lithology: marine; gray, blue, silty claystone and volcaniclastic, shelly/skeletal sandstone

• Contains reef units in some parts of section.
• Blue-gray silty claystone and blocky, muddy, shelly volcaniclastic sandstone with common basalt granules. The lower part of the section contains laminated pyritic, organic-rich claystone and erect branching broyzoans.
