Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; lithified reef rocks and lithified rudstone

• The Sabkhat Lafayrina reef complex is about 2.5 km long and 3 km wide, up to 35 m high.
• microfacies is dominated by rudstones, and framestones, e.g. wavy laminar stromatoporoids, bryozoans mostly associated with crinoidal limestones and stromatoporoid bindstones in the basal parts of the reef
