• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Umgazana Fm, for which lithostratigraphic relationships are unknown. AGE: Early Valanginian, on the basis of ammonite and palynological biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Unknown position within unit.

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified, lenticular, shelly/skeletal limestone and lithified, green, sandy conglomerate

• ENVIRONMENT: Shallow marine siliciclastic setting.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Darkish green conglomerates with some bands of coarse sandstone and grit, with occasional fossiliferous limestone lentils. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, assumed on the basis of facies descriptions from regionally dominant lithology, and figures from subsequent publications (e.g. Kennedy and Kinger 1977).
