Where: Alberta, Canada (49.1° N, 110.9° W: paleocoordinates 56.4° N, 76.5° W)
• coordinate stated in text
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Foremost Formation (Belly River Group), Middle Campanian (83.5 - 70.6 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Foremost [Mbr] Fm, which overlies the Early Campanian Pakowki Fm, and is overlain by the Oldman [Mbr] Fm (non-marine) of the Judith River [Fm] Gp (Late Campanian). AGE: Late Campanian on the basis of ammonite (and other groups) biostratigraphy; Middle Campanian according to Dawson et el. - Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From the basal Foremost Fm.
•
•Foremost Formation is likely middle Campanian in age, see Fowler et al. 2017 supplementary data for more details on age constraints of the Foremost Formation.
