Where: Greenland (70.8° N, 53.3° W: paleocoordinates 62.1° N, 17.6° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Kangilia Formation, Maastrichtian (72.1 - 66.0 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Kangilia Fm, which unconformably overlies the unnamed Late Campanian mudstones, and is unconformably overlain by the Agatdal Fm. AGE: Maastrichtian on the basis of ammonite biostratigraphy and palynology. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From loose concretion, near base of formation at ~340 m above base of section, 50 m above the top of the conglomerate (base of Kangilia Fm).
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: offshore; lithified, concretionary, sandy mudstone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: cast, mold/impression, concretion
