Also known as S55/f851; GS10400

Where: New Zealand (42.6° S, 173.5° E: paleocoordinates 64.7° S, 144.1° W)

• coordinate based on unpublished field data

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Tarapuhi Grit Formation, Piripauan (85.8 - 83.5 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Tarapuhi Grit, which conformably overlies Okarahia Sandstone, and is conformably overlain by the Conway Sandstone. AGE: Piripauan (=Coniacian-Santonian), on the basis of macrofossil biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Loose blocks on slope.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; lithified sandstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Intertidal or directly subtidal environment along present day shorelines in moderate energy.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Gritty sandstone. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, based on facies description (FRED).

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: cast, mold/impression
