Where: Angola (5.2° S, 12.1° E: paleocoordinates 11.3° S, 5.1° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Landana Formation, Lutetian (47.8 - 41.3 Ma)
• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the "Landana beds". Bed 31 assigned to the Lutetian on the basis of planktonic foraminifera biostratigraphy (subtropical zone P3b; Solé et al., 2018) and dinoflagellates (Steeman et al., 2019). A Lutetian age for layers 29-32 is based on vertebrate and invertebrate records (see above) as these layers contain no foraminifers and d13C record is not sufficient. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From upper part of section, at bed 30-31.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: open shallow subtidal; lithified, dolomitic, shelly/skeletal, cherty/siliceous packstone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: cast, mold/impression
Reposited in the SUI
Collection methods: surface (in situ),
• COLLECTORS: Probably T.H. Clark and E. Vincent. REPOSITORY: State University of Iowa.
