• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From Member 4 of the Chapel Island Fm, which overlies the Renconte Fm, and is overlain by the Random Fm. AGE: Unclear from Landing et al. (1989), who refers to the overlying strata as post-Nemakit-Daldynian and pre-Tommotian; "Ladatheca" cylindrica zone; here placed in Nemakit-Daldynian, until clearer data are available. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From the "Ladatheca" cylindrica zone, in the lower part of the regional section, at 120.14 m, within unknown part of Member 3.

Environment/lithology: deep subtidal shelf; lithified, nodular, pyritic, green mudstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Deep muddy shelf.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Olive-green siliciclastic mudstone with pyritized and microsparite nodules. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, on the basis of facies description and preparation techniques.
