• LITHOSTRATIGRAPHY: From the Cajamarca Fm, which is locally overlain by the Celendín Fm (Coniacian). AGE: middle to Late Turonian, on the basis of ammonite biostratigraphy; Coilopoceras newelli zone. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Collection from 43 m thick limestone unit, near the top of the section.

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified, nodular, gray, blue, calcareous shale

• LITHOLOGY: Limestone, argillaceous, dark bluish gray, somewhat nodular, fossiliferous. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, on the basis of facies description.
