• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Táchira Chert Mbr of the La Luna Fm, which regionally overlies the La Puya and Peñas Altas Fms (Albian-Aptian) and is overlain by the Colón Fm. AGE: Early Coniacian; on the basis of ammonite biostratigraphy. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From unknown position within member.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, gray, cherty/siliceous limestone

• ENVIRONMENT: Not stated, but said to be facies which become euxinic, from a shale lateral equivalent.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Limestone intercalation within "cherty member". Otherwise Llmestone, dark gray, hard, dense, splintery and weather to be a light gray color. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, on the basis of figured specimens.
