• "The stratigraphical horizon is c. 100 m above the base of the Olenidsletta Member of the Vallhalfonna Formation at the top of V2 in the terminology of Fortey (1980) and Arenig Series Ca 1 in Terms of graptolites (= North American D. bifidus zone, see Cooper and Fortey, 1982)." (Evans & King, 1990).

• According to Fortey & Bruton (1973) 100 m above the base of the Olenidsletta Mbr. is within the middle part of the Member, characterized by "black, finely crystalline limestone beds and subordinate shale" alternating "in more or less regular fashion" with "gray, coarsely crystalline sparite beds".
