Also known as 97AK74O

Where: Alaska (68.3° N, 162.2° W: paleocoordinates 32.7° N, 11.5° W)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Siksikpuk Formation (Etivluk Group), Serpukhovian (330.9 - 323.2 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Siksikpuk Formation of the Etivluk Gp. AGE: late Late Mississippian to early Middle Pennsylvanian (Chesterian to Morrowan); placed in Serpukhovian to avoid stratigraphic orphaning. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Sample from Siksikpuk Formation, ~93 ft above base of section and 5 ft above base of unit, from medium-dark-gray to black chert in even to nodular beds 3 to 10 cm thick.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, black, gray chert

• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Medium-dark-gray to black chert in even to nodular beds 3 to 10 cm thick. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, on the basis of facies description and preparation techniques.

Size class: macrofossils

Collected by Kelley in 1997; reposited in the USNM

• COLLECTOR: J. S. Kelley. REPOSITORY: Presumably USNM.
