When: Cynognathus subzone C other zone, Lifua Member (Manda Beds Formation), Anisian (247.2 - 242.0 Ma)

• "Manda Beds are correlated with Subzone C of the Cynognathus Assemblage Zone of the Beaufort Group, South Africa, which has been dated as latest Anisian in age"

Environment/lithology: fluvial-deltaic; red sandstone and micaceous, green, red siltstone

• "seasonally arid fluviodeltaic environment"
• "fining upward cycles of reddish feldspathic sandstones grading up to green or red micaceous siltstones"
