• Olistolith, brachiopods suggest correlation with Wairakiella rostrata zone, the youngest of the N.Z. Permian.

•Hyden et al. (1982) describe this fauna as from the Countess Formation. However, reassessment of these rocks by Aitchison et al. (1988) places them in the Stephens Subgroup, either in the Acheron Lakes Sandstone or Eldon Sandstone (Late Permian).
