Sister taxa: Parascalops breweri, Parascalops grayensis
Type specimen: ISEZ PAN MF/1018/24, a set of postcrania (Humerus sin.). Its type locality is Podlesice, which is in a MN 14 cave breccia in Poland.
Ecology: fossorial insectivore
Distribution: found only at Podlesice
