Type specimen: Geological Museum of the University of Michigan Number 8923, a partial skull (posterior portion of the skull, right maxillary region, greater part of the dentigerous region of both rami, and the articular region of the right ramus). Its type locality is Tatman Mountain (UM crocodilian), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.
