Sister taxa: Prolimnocyon antiquus, Prolimnocyon atavus, Prolimnocyon eerius, Prolimnocyon haematus

Type specimen: IVPP V11138, a mandible (left dentary with m2-3). Its type locality is Bayan Ulan site (lower 3 m), which is in a Paleocene terrestrial siltstone in the Nomogen Formation of China.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Bayan Ulan site (lower 3 m)
