Sister taxon: Cyathactis balticus
Type specimen: USNM 159448. Its type locality is USGS loc. M191, Bonnet Rock, Klamath Mountains, which is in a Ludlow reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Gazelle Formation of California.
