Type specimen: MPM-Pv 3457, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Cerro Los Hornos (Orkoraptor locality), which is in a Campanian fluvial mudstone/sandstone in the Cerro Fortaleza Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Cerro Los Hornos (Orkoraptor locality)
