Sister taxa: Spinifrons delicatula, Spinifrons magna, Spinifrons planoconvexa, Spinifrons quadrata
Type specimen: USNM 221259, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is Locality 13, mule trail between El Portachuelo and Mucuchachi, which is in a Kungurian deep subtidal shelf wackestone in the Palmarito Formation of Venezuela.
