Sister taxon: Aneuthelasma amygdalinum

Type specimen: USNM 221520, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is Locality 6, Block A, mule trail between El Portachuelo and Mucuchachi, which is in a Kungurian open shallow subtidal wackestone in the Palmarito Formation of Venezuela.
