Sister taxon: Amphipella attenuata
Type specimen: USNM 148098a, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is USNM708u, Split Tank, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
