Sister taxon: Psamosolen gabbiana
Type specimen: Amer. Mus. No. 24995, a valve (one valve). Its type locality is Springvale (AMNH collection), which is in a Miocene coastal sandstone in Trinidad and Tobago.
Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Springvale (AMNH collection)
