Type specimen: USNM 125293, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is UO 2202-2, "Triangulation Hill", Grindstone-Twelvemile Creek area, which is in a Kungurian marine limestone/sandstone in the Coyote Butte Formation of Oregon.
