Type specimen: USNM 392014, a mandible (posterior portions of both dentaries with P/4 and molars). Its type locality is Martin Marietta New Bern Quarry, Castle Hayne Formation, which is in an Eocene coastal limestone in the Castle Hayne Formation of North Carolina.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Martin Marietta New Bern Quarry, Castle Hayne Formation
