Sister taxa: Yochelsonia stehlii, Yochelsonia sulcata

Type specimen: USNM 179056, a shell (Articulated shell). Its type locality is UWA WC29-32/3, Shed Gate, Mungadan Paddock, which is in a Kungurian marine siliciclastic in the Wandagee Formation of Australia.
