Sister taxa: Chaenomya caatingaensis, Chaenomya guizhouensis, Chaenomya leavenworthensis
Type specimen: CPC 3883, a valve (Left valve). Its type locality is BMR KNuA1, Paraside Homestead, which is in a Sakmarian coastal siliciclastic in the Poole Formation of Australia.
Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal suspension feeder
