Type specimen: IVPP V15471, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton with feathers). Its type locality is Daohugou (IVPP collection), which is in a Callovian lacustrine - large shale/tuff in the Tiaojishan Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Daohugou (IVPP collection)
