Type specimen: OSU 52376, a shell. Its type locality is Somerset Cut Limestone quarry, east side County Road 96, 2.1 km N County Rd 96, which is in a Chesterian/Brigantian carbonate limestone/shale in the Maxville Limestone Formation of Ohio.
