Sister taxa: Porosoma cribrum, Porosoma lamberti, Porosoma maeandrinum, Porosoma reesidei, Cyphosoma (Coptosoma) singulare

Type specimen: UCMP 10782, a test (nearly complete specimen). Its type locality is El Cardon, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Sepultura Formation of Mexico.

Ecology: slow-moving low-level epifaunal omnivore

Distribution: found only at El Cardon
