Type specimen: Niigata Univ NU-B652, a valve (Dorsal valve external mold). Its type locality is Festningen, Unit 7-1, Svalbard (1989-91 coll), which is in a Wuchiapingian marine shale in the Kapp Starostin Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
