Type specimen: IITR/SB/VLM 899, a mandible (left dentary with alveolus for P/1 and crowns for P/2-M3, M/1 damaged). Its type locality is Vastan Lignite Mine, which is in a Ypresian lagoonal siltstone/claystone in the Cambay Shale Formation of India.
