Sister taxa: Deinotherium bozasi, Deinotherium giganteum, Deinotherium hobleyi, Deinotherium proavum, Dinotherium indicum, Dinotherium konigii, Dinotherium pentapotamiae, Dinotherium sindiense
Type specimen: Its type locality is Perim Island, which is in a Tortonian terrestrial horizon in the Piram Conglomerate Formation of India
Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser
Distribution:
• Miocene of India (3 collections), Thailand (1)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
