Type specimen: PKUP V1069, a skeleton (nearly complete, largely articulated adult with carbonized traces of feathers). Its type locality is Dawangzhangzi, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine shale in the Yixian Formation of China.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution: found only at Dawangzhangzi
