Type specimen: NHG 22279, a partial skull (neurocranium with nasals, ascending fragments of maxilla and premaxilla, damaged frontals (the lateral part of the sop is missing), parietals, occipitals, squam). Its type locality is Westerschelde, Zanclean, which is in a Zanclean marine sandstone in the Kattendijk Formation of the Netherlands.
