Type specimen: USNM 537366, a valve (intermediate valve). Its type locality is Ulrich Loc. 455-v. south slope of hill (near top) 4¾-5 miles S of Potosi, which is in a Trempealeauan carbonate dolomite in the Eminence Formation of Missouri.

Ecology: facultatively mobile epifaunal grazer
