Sister taxon: Aciprion majus

Type specimen: AMNH 1609, a mandible (dentary with seven perfect teeth). Its type locality is Cedar Creek, which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of Colorado.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore

Distribution:

• Oligocene of United States (4: Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming collections)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
