Sister taxa: Simpsonodon oxfordensis, Simpsonodon splendens

Type specimen: PIN 5087/5, a mandible (L dentary fragment with 3 last molariform teeth, alveolus for a more anterior tooth, and base of coronoid process). Its type locality is Berezovsk Quarry, which is in a Bathonian fluvial claystone in the Itat Formation of the Russian Federation.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Berezovsk Quarry
