Belongs to Ampyxoides according to W. T. Dean 1973

Sister taxa: Ampyxoides inermis, Ampyxoides semicostatus

Type specimen: GSC 29333, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is GSC loc. 54076. District of Mackenzie, Keele Range, which is in a Llanvirn carbonate limestone in the Esbataottine Formation of Canada.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal suspension feeder

Distribution:

• Ordovician of Canada (1: Northwest Territories collection), United States (1: Nevada)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
