Type specimen: MPEF-PV 1663, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Cañadón Las Leoneras, which is in a Pliensbachian lacustrine claystone in the Las Leoneras Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Cañadón Las Leoneras
